An Evening Above Los Angeles: The TSUI Group’s 2021 Happy Hour

9-1-2021

Sometimes, the best way to strengthen a team is simply to step away from the work and spend time together.

In 2021, members of The TSUI Group gathered high above Downtown Los Angeles for an evening of conversation, connection and a chance to enjoy one another’s company outside of the usual workday.

With panoramic views of the city as the backdrop, the team came together at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown for a happy hour that was less about schedules and project milestones — and more about the people behind them.

Taking Time to Connect

The work of program and project management is built around collaboration.

Every project brings together different people, perspectives and areas of expertise, all working toward a shared goal. But some of the most valuable connections happen outside of conference rooms, job sites and project meetings.

Our 2021 happy hour created space for exactly that.

Team members had the opportunity to catch up, enjoy the view and connect with colleagues in a relaxed setting overlooking Los Angeles.

It was a reminder that while the work brings us together, the relationships we build along the way are what make a strong team possible.

A Different View of the Team

Against the Los Angeles skyline, colleagues gathered for drinks, dinner and dessert while enjoying an evening away from the normal pace of the workday.

There were plenty of smiles, conversations and, judging by the dessert plates, a few good reasons to save room for something sweet.

More importantly, the evening gave members of The TSUI Group an opportunity to spend time together as people — not simply as job titles, departments or project teams.

That matters to us.

The TSUI Group was founded on an approach that places personal service, integrity and meaningful relationships at the center of our work. Creating that kind of environment for our clients starts with cultivating it within our own organization.

The People Behind Every Project

Successful projects require technical expertise, thoughtful planning and strong leadership.

They also require people who trust one another.

Company gatherings like our 2021 happy hour may happen away from the projects we support, but they contribute to something equally important: a culture where colleagues have opportunities to build stronger relationships with one another.

Those relationships carry back into the work.

They make communication easier. Collaboration becomes more natural. Teams get to know the people behind the emails, meetings and deliverables.

And ultimately, that helps us serve our clients better.

Looking Back — and Moving Forward

Years later, photos from evenings like this are a reminder that the story of a company isn’t told only through the projects it completes.

It’s also told through the people who were there along the way.

We’re grateful for the team members who have contributed their experience, ideas and energy to The TSUI Group throughout the years — and for the opportunities we’ve had to come together, celebrate and enjoy the journey.

Because the best work is built by great people — and great relationships make the journey even better.
